The Avocet, designed as a signature course by the team of Jeff Brauer and Larry Nelson, presents creative contouring, elevated tees and greens, and an all around uniqueness that cannot be matched. The opening hole, a 402-yard par-4, sports grass depressions in lieu of sand bunkers around the green. The par-4 sixth hole features a three-tiered, double green shared with the par-3 17th. The 362-yard ninth, considered by many to be the signature hole, has a double fairway bisected by a line of grass and sand pot bunkers.

Summary
Professionalism & Great Service make the Wild Wing experience a good reason to play. The course is consistently in good shape with true greens and lots of grass on the fairways. Pick your tees wisely because the greens play long. Nice vistas for approach shots with deep bunkers make this course challenging up and down.
Pros
- Challenging Course
- Impressive layout
- Professional Staff
- Pace of Course is Good
Cons
- Club House Kitchen closes early – no food after 4:00pm and lacks atmosphere.

A family favorite course
We own a house in south myrtle beach and do love Pawley’s Island but this is the only course we will drive a little further for. The drive isn’t that bad about 30 mins but longer then the south myrtle courses. It is worth the drive and the other comments are right club houses restaurant closes early. We usually eat at Joe’s Bar and Grill love the outdoor experience.

Great Layout but club house disappointing
Best day of golf – impressive layout and pace was good. We finished our round in 3 hours and 45 minutes. Weather wasn’t too bad considering it is Winter but we finished later in the afternoon and really wanted to grab a bit to eat and found out there is no food. I see the reviews now. I guess I should have read some reviews. My teenage son was pretty hungry.
