Myrtle Beach promises to fulfill many fantasies, and International World Tour lets golfers live 27 of them. Buy a yardage book, and absorb the back stories of the holes as you play them to truly immerse yourself in the experience.
The hole designs themselves are very well done. (Although the ‘valley of sin’ on the replica of 18 on the Old Course felt more like the ‘valley of mildly regrettable behavior.’) The holes that were chosen fit nicely into the landscape and do not feel forced, despite the fact that the land surrounding the holes cannot always recreate the entire experience of playing the original.
Now you can experience the thrill of playing 27 holes inspired by some of the world’s most famous layouts; Pine Valley, Augusta National, St. Andrews. They’re all here and more. Each turn takes you to a special place and the memories of great shots you’ve seen in tournaments played around the world. You can travel the globe and spend a fortune in airfare and greens fees or you can tee off here and see the world from Myrtle Beach. The Open nine includes holes inspired by St Andrews, Pinehurst, TPC Sawgrass, Colonial, English Turn, Pine Valley, Augusta, and National Golf Club of Canada. Seven holes have water in play (including island greens on the third (TPC Sawgrass # 17) and fifth (English Turn par four # 15), and 42 sand bunkers are scatted about the layout. The tee boxes play to distances measuring 3235, 3026, 2859 and 2578 yards. The Champiohsip nine plays to 3290, 3188, 2967 and 2756 yards with 40 sand bunkers and water hazards in play on 4 holes. The finishing hole is a replica of Number 11 at Bay hill – other courses from which this nine gathered inspiration include Winged Foot, Cypress Point, Royal Troon (Postage Stamp), Olympic Club, Oakmont and the Amen Corner of Augusta National (holes 4,5 and 6 here serve to replicate numbers 11, 12 and 13 at Augusta).
