The golf at Willbrook – Pawelys Island, SC
Willbrook is in Pawleys Island, about 20 minutes south of central Myrtle Beach. Dan Maples built it around wide fairways, with sand bunkers sculpted into mounding along the landing zones and around the greens.
In total, 45 sand traps and waste areas come into play, and water features affect the tee shot or the approach on 14 holes. The ponds, tributaries and creeks mostly sit along the edges of the holes, though carries off the tee or on approaches are demanded on four of them. It is a picturesque course that plays fair, which is why it works for a relaxed round with a mixed group.
The stretch from the 12th to the 14th is the part golfers remember. The par 3 12th has a pond and a large waste bunker in front of the green. A wooden retaining wall seals another waste bunker and fronts the fairway on the par 4 13th. On the 14th, a creek laps the green complex and forms a watery horseshoe. Then comes the 15th, which will truly test your skills.

It isn’t overly long and has a nice mix of some holes with challenge and then some much easier holes.
WillBrook was a perfect course to warm up on for elite golfers
WillBrook was a perfect course to warm up on. Pretty good conditions tee to green, bunkers need a little attention but the greens were perfect. Looking forward to the rest of the week

Loved Willbrook! Has such a classic ‘Southern’ feel to it. Great shape and fun to play. Would definitely go back!
